Anglers reported good to excellent trout action on both lakes this week.
Trout were hitting Power Bait ( especially orange, garlic and spring green), night crawlers, jigs and lures. Anglers also used lots of attractants- garlic, anise and roe. Hot spots included the eastern logged shore and western shore from the pump house to the bridge of lake 3 as well as the northern and eastern shores of lake 2.
Catches of the Week
Highland angler, D. Charles Jimenz, scored 5 lbs 11 ozs and 5 lbs 10 ozs rainbows on spring green Power Bait from the eastern logged shore of lake 3.
Charley Hernandez of Montebello, caught his 4 lbs 4 ozs and 4 lbs 1 ozs rainbows on spring green Power Bait while fishing the western shore of lake 3 near the bridge.
Fred Daily of Apple Valley reeled in a 3 lbs 3 ozs trout from the eastern shore of lake 3 using a marble fly.
Twenty Nine Palms angler, Carlos Vidaurri, caught a 3 lbs 7 ozs rainbow on garlic Power Bait while fishing the western shore of lake 3 near the drain.
Brian Pondo of Sierra Madre, used Pautze's Salmon Floating Bait from the western shore of lake 3 to catch his 5 lbs 8 ozs rainbow.
Greg Thornton of Rancho Cucamonga caught a 4 lbs 2 ozs trout on an orange/green Power Mouse while fishing the eastern shore of lake 2.
