The trout fishing was greatly improved Friday. The same for Saturday for those who did not mind getting wet. Sunday, the bite remains good in all the standard places. It is a bait bite only. Trolling is marginal. Even though we have stopped filling the lake the bass remain scattered and fussy… No one has seriously targeted the cats.
Best Trout Spots: Cactus patch, Half Moon Cove and Sentry Points
Best Trout Lures / Bait: salmon peach Power Bait
Best Cat Spots: The dam buoyline
Best Cat Bait: mackerel. Use scent liberally
Best Bass Spots: The launch ramp
Best Bass Lures /bait: crawdads
Water Temp. 61 degrees on surface.
Notables: No fish over 3 lbs. or limits under 1 hour.
Prognosis: We will stock a 1000lb. load of Mt. Lassen‘s great trout this Tues.. The lake is completely full and things should settle down. The freshly flooded brush should be very attractive to prespawn bass in the afternoons.
