Lake Skinner Fishing Report

The striper bite is officially back with the top fish coming in over 32 pounds. Chicken liver and Anchovies are producing smaller striper near the dam and the inlet as well as a few in the East End and some from the shore at Ramp #2 and the Marina Point. The bigger boys have come in off of big lures, and trout colors seem to be the ticket. The bass are also hitting hard as they are moving into the shallows and are getting aggressive. The bass are hitting worms, both plastic and real. East End and the South Shore are the best spots, however shore fishermen are finding them west of Marina point as well as along points near Ramp #2. News made it out that trout stocks are not happening at Lake Skinner, but those are only the DFG plants. Riverside County will continue with their stocks as only 2 are left on the schedule. Trout fishing remained strong this past week, with the East End being the hot spot as the trout bite cooled near ramp #2. Powerbait and worms are still the best bait for the rainbows. Not too much news on the cats or the bluegill, but if the bass are beginning to move shallow, look for these two fish to follow soon.

The following are the fish ratings:
Bass: Excellent
Bluegill: Fair
Catfish: Fair
Striper: Excellent
Trout: Excellent
