At the close of last week, the bass fishing was great and hopes were high that it would only get better, however the drop in the water level at the lake would prove sufficient to dash our hopes. Bass scattered and headed into deeper water and were very shy for most of the week, but as we close this week, the bass have begun to bite once again. Most of the fishermen said that they found most of the bass holding in 12-18 feet of water. Dark plastics off the bottom remain one of the best baits for the bass. East End and South Shore proved to be the location for the bass. Striper remain some what slow even with reports of a few shore caught striper near Ramp #2. Trout were stocked, but the water and weather kept the trout in deeper water and trout fishing was best by boat in the East End. Bluegill have started to show up in some numbers, mostly in the coves around Ramp #2 for shore fishermen and the South Shore for those in a boat. Cats remain fairly silent still.
The following are the fish reports: Bass: Good Bluegill: Fair Catfish: Poor Striper: Fair Trout: Fair
