Old Hickory Lake, Tennessee

Fished from noon until 4:30pm today. Better day even with the rain last night and cooler temps today. Caught 14 on a small crankbait in the creeks below the 109 bridge. All would have been short but three and they were between 14" and 15". Hooked the largest bass I have ever had on fishing Old Hickory about 4:00pm today (6lbs 9oz is largest so far on this lake for me). Got him to the boat and he nosedived under it. My drag was loose but not loose enough I guess and he broke the line - 12lb flourocarbon. He went semi-airborne about 30' from the boat and would have gone 7-8 lbs easy...my heart was beating out of my chest. The worst part was all the fish came on the same crankbait and it is now in his mouth somewhere in Station Camp Creek. Unfortunately, it was the only one I had so - off to Bass Pro Shops. -- Peace.
