Lake Gilmer, Texas

Fished Lake Gilmer this afternoon with my son and partner. Started up by the dam using black/blue jigs on deeper timber and along spotty grass. No bites. Went to upper lake above bridge and started on grass line edge in 6' - 8'. Partner bowed up on first cast with Tex-rig with black/blue wave worm. New she was big when we saw her mouth wide open on first jump. She dug in and made a good, hard run. When I got the net under her we new she was heavy. On digital scales she registered in at 12 lbs. 6 oz. His wife was close by and got to take pictures before he released her. If partner agrees I will post photo when I recieve it. Not a bad way to spend an afternoon.

RE: Lake Gilmer, Texas

That would have been a lake record if you had properly recorded it.
